“Oh my god, Tyler!” Jeremy practically shrieks, running towards his boyfriend. Tyler’s standing alone in the Lockwood ruins, looking somewhat dejected. When he sees Jeremy coming towards him, Tyler backs up, holding his hands up, willing Jeremy to stop.
“Tyler? What’s wrong?” Jeremy immediately stops running, starting to feel somewhat anxious as he slowly walks towards Tyler, who still has his hands up. He’s avoiding Jeremy’s eyes as much as possible, which probably doesn’t help to stop him from realizing what’s going on.
He knows the exact moment when Jeremy figures out that the only reason he’s seeing Tyler right now is because he’s dead.
“No,” Jeremy says, voice starting to shake. Tyler still can’t look him in the face, knowing that the moment he does, they’ll both break. Jeremy steps closer to Tyler, putting his hands on the shorter boy’s shoulders. He can only slightly feel his boyfriend under his hands, like Tyler’s slowly fading away from him.
“No…no, you can’t be dead!” Jeremy doesn’t even sound sad anymore. He just sounds angry.
“You’re going to be fine,” Tyler assures him, finally making eye contact. “I promise you, Jer. You’re going to be okay.”
“No, I can’t be. Not without you.” Jeremy’s eyes well up with tears. “We can talk to Bonnie, she’ll bring you back, or…she can do something!” He’s crying openly now, tears running down his cheeks.
“There’s no point,” Tyler says quietly. “She won’t be able to bring me back. She’s only been able to do that once, and that’s why you can see me.” Jeremy shakes his head. He can feel Tyler fading, faster now. He can hardly feel Tyler under his hands.
“No,” Jeremy whispers, “don’t leave me!”
“It’s okay,” Tyler tries to console him again. “You’re strong, Jer. You’ll make it through this.” Jeremy’s shaking his head again, and now he can’t feel his hands on Tyler at all.
“I can’t,” Jeremy whimpers. “Please don’t leave. I love you.”
But Jeremy doesn’t get to hear a response, because he simply blinks and Tyler is gone.
